COURSE 1 – BASIC LEVEL IN REFORMER AND MATWORK (MATWORK)
- Biography of J.H Pilates and the design of his future Method
- Definition, description and chronology of the 6 fundamental principles of the Method.
- Description and definition of the Skeleton in the Method
- Basic level in Reformer and Mat and relationship between both.
- Precision and biomechanics of each exercise.
- Concepts for modifying exercises to adapt the Method to the needs of each client according to their morphology and pathologies.
- Observation points for the class design known as System
- Position of the professor to assess the client
- System of omissions depending on the individual client and preparation for future rehabilitation.
COURSE 2 – INTRODUCTION TO THE SYSTEM AND CLASS DESIGN
- Description of the System and its function
- Design of the System according to the needs of each client and the observations obtained from the Skeleton.
- Machines that form the base of the System (Cadillac, Electric Chair, Wunda Chair, Elastic Bands, Magic Circle, Wall, Big Barrel, Small Barrel, and Weights)
- Precision and biomechanics of each exercise.
- System needs according to the pathologies of each client
- Basic level class endings
COURSE 3 – INTERMEDIATE LEVEL IN REFORMER AND MATWORK (MATWORK)
- Timeline for the gradual introduction of the Intermediate Level Mat and Reformer exercises according to the needs of each client
- Intermediate level Reformer and Mat (Intermediate Skeleton)
- System exercises to aide in the introduction of these exercises
- Relationship of the Intermediate Skeleton to the Basic Skeleton
- Concepts for modifying the exercises to adapt the Method to the needs of each client according to their morphology and pathology.
- Precision and biomechanics of each exercise
- Definition of the respiratory system, its usefulness in the Method and its corresponding exercises at the Intermediate level
- Position of the professor to assess and assist his client
COURSE 4 – INTERMEDIATE LEVEL SYSTEM (PART 1)
- Evolution from the Basic level System to the Intermediate System for each client (Cadillac, Weights, Wunda Chair, Electric Chair, Small Barrel, Big Barrel, Pedi-pole, Magic Circle, Baby Chair)
- Reinsertion of Basic level exercises omitted due to pathologies depending on the evolution of each client and each pathology
- Concept and exercises related to the client’s reincorporation to Full Posture or standing position
- Precision and biomechanics of each exercise
- Endings for Intermediate level class as related to the Basic level
COURSE 5 – INTERMEDIATE LEVEL SYSTEM (PART 2)
- Evolution of the Intermediate System to prepare the Advanced level Mat and Reformer (Cadillac, Electric Chair, Big Barrel, Magic Circle on the Mat, Spine Corrector, Guillotine)
- Precision and biomechanics of each exercise
- Arriving to Total Posture in the Method
- Endings for Intermediate level class in relation to the Advanced level
COURSE 6 – WUNDA CHAIR CLASS AND ADVANCED LEVEL PREPARATION
- Wunda Chair class (or Wunda chair, as an introduction to the Advanced level in both the Reformer and the Mat)
- Usefulness of the Wunda Chair in the Method and as a tool for the Advanced level
- Introduction timeline for the exercises in the Wunda Chair and pairing through System to antagonistic exercises for the balance or symmetry required for the Wunda Chair.
- Wunda Chair class design according to the history of each client
- Magic Circle class for Advanced level
COURSE 7 – ARCHIVAL EXERCISES
- Exercises from the Archives or exercises infrequently used, or used at the very Advanced level
- Relationship of the Archive exercises to the Skeleton
- Incorporation of these exercises according to the needs or profile of our client.
- Usefulness of the Archive exercises according to the needs of each client
- Study of pathological cases
COURSE 8 – ADVANCED LEVEL IN REFORMER
- Advanced Reformer class (advanced and star level)
- Introduction timeline of Advanced Reformer exercises
- Elements to consider when moving toward the Advanced level in the Reformer
- Position of the teacher to assist the client in the most appropriate way
- Advice for the client on Advanced Reformer (teacher position and points to consider when introducing Advanced exercises)
- Evolution of the exercises from Basic to Advanced level (the final form)
COURSE 9 – ADVANCED LEVEL ON MAT (MATWORK)
- Advanced level Mat
- Introduction timeline of Advanced Mat exercises
- Elements to take into account when moving toward the Advanced level Mat
- Position of the teacher to assist the client in the most appropriate way and points to take into consideration according to the morphologies or old pathologies of each client
